Tinlin - Two Brothers in Harmony

I first heard Tinlin play live when they supported their Drummer's dad - who just happens to be Paul Carrack - on his UK Good Feeling Tour in 2013. After hearing their beautfiul melodies and well-crafted songs, I just had to say "Hello" to them at the Merch stand and buy a couple of their signed CD's. They are lovely, talented guys who I hope to hear more from this year.

Tinlin is a 3 piece band featuring brothers Alex and Rolf Tinlin on guitar and vocals and Paul Carrack's son Jack on drums and percussion. They have played at the Glastonbury Festival and have been constantly touring in the UK and Europe since 2010 - and they even do special "Lounge Gigs" for their fans!

So who are they influenced by? A recent review in the Guardian Newspaper said of their CD SHADE OF THE SHADOWS "Shade of the Shadows is an utterly charming record...Try to imagine a musical marriage of Simon & Garfunkel, Fairport Convention, Randy Newman, and John Martyn, with a dash of Gentle Giant".

Another recent live gig reviewer said "This band are everything I respect about good musicians. They write well crafted and extremely catchy folk acoustic style music and they work really hard to grab you and get you to the place they want you to go to. Some people may draw a comparison with Simon and Garfunkel -- well that's not a bad duo to be compared to! Their live set is compelling and evocative and they reproduce this atmosphere on this CD (from which their live set derives). Rolf was kind enough to talk to me about his mandolin during the concert interval - If you get a chance to see this band on the current tour then please make the effort".

Have a listen to their music & you'll be instantly captivated by the amazing vocal harmonies and intelligent poetic lyrics......
