The Rose & Stock Families
The Rose Family origins are in rural Essex and in the Canning Town & West Ham areas of East London. They were mainly Farm workers, Publicans, Greengrocers , or Bricklayers. Some ended up in the Workhouse, others did a little better.... one became a fireman who did his duty in the East End of London during the blitz......

The Sharman, Thomas & Pawsey Families
The Thomas family earned a living on a rural Victorian farm in Wales & by working on the newly built steam Railways. Some members became engaged in domestic service in North London in the late 1800's and worked with horses as coachmen or Grooms. The Sharman's came from the West Country. Their descendants along with the Pawsey family suffered poverty in the East End of London and then had to cope with living through two world wars....

TheKeen, Thorne & Blanks Families
The Thorne's, originally an agricultural family from Buckinghamshire involved with the straw plaiting trade, joined with The Blanks Family from Essex, who were mainly Blacksmiths. There are a few scandals uncovered in the 19th Century - including a bigamy trial at the Old Bailey - and some family members emigrated to Australia and America. In the 20th Century war has a direct effect on the family, and tragedy strikes repeatedly....

The Tisdall Family
The story of a large Victorian & Edwardian family who ran a Dyers & Furriers Business in Shepherd's Bush in West London. There are stories about a Music Hall Actress, tragic young deaths, and a row about a will & money. Some of their descendants fight in the Great War and WWII whilst others emigrate to the USA in search of a better life only to be caught up in the Great Depression.....

The Bunclark Family
The story of a family of Shopkeepers - mainly Drapers & Bakers - who lived through the 18th & 19th Century and may have been descended from an illegitimate son of Royalty. In the 20th Century their descendents are forced to deal with the harsh realities that come with war.....
